I was out in southern Ceredigion yesterday (Capel Dewi, just north of the Teifi) doing Brown Hairstreak egg surveys, and was struck, as always when doing BH surveys in SW Wales, by the abundance of R. triquetrus on lane banks.
I've still to record this species in Glam! Barry, could you post a map please? Maybe one for each of the Rhytidiadelphus species if you have time. Thanks.
As you can see Graham, Charles & Hilary are going great guns in NPT!
ReplyDeleteExcellent, thanks Barry. Great news about the subpinnatus (I know it was ages ago now but I hadn't realised it'd been recorded in VC41).
ReplyDeleteThere are 2 SEWBReC records, the first attributed to you!

Barry, I think you've got Graham's initials confused with mine!
ReplyDeleteSorry George - never was good at multi-tasking!
ReplyDeleteCraig y Ddinas is in VC42 I think, so there's a VC error in the second record. The first is correct, but is the only VC41 record of R subpinn.
ReplyDeleteSam correct - the second is by the Meltte in Brecks - I presume this is a LRC error. Sam, Ray and myself probably spent best part of a day each removing all the errors from the BIS bryophyte database. I just hope they aren't creating more. I haven't yet been able to face having a good look through the Brecks Vascular plant register as first few things I glanced at had errors and I feared the worst.
ReplyDeleteIf you check out the R. squarrosus map there's an awful lot of records in the Mons half of Caerphilly! These should be easy to expunge ... sorry, 'change v-c attributes' ... I must become less parochial ;-)
ReplyDeleteNote to oneself: GSM = Graham & GMT with a pic of a moth = George!
